The body of this full size cello is fractionally smaller, with a correspondingly shorter string length. This provides an ease of play while maintaining a full-bodied depth of sound.
Tim based this model on a combination of two Stradivarius celli; the "Davidov" owned by Yo-Yo Ma and the 1727 Strad owned by Ko Iwasaki. After combining what he considered the best features from both instruments, Tim modified the lines subtly, making this cello uniquely a Jansma. He achieved the balance he sought, the line of the curve unbroken, the sensuousness of the corners - resulting in a cello of beauty to both the eye and ear.
